What Are Shares?

The derivatives market was developed in the early 90s, mainly to attract exchange speculators with small capital to shares trading. Initially, it was impossible to trade stocks without registering ownership of the given asset. Over time, to make this market more accessible, Contracts for Difference were introduced for trading financial instruments, basic goods, and other various exchange instruments. Contracts are financial instruments that are used to buy shares online. Stock trading is possible due to the price going up or down, which traders use to open ‘Buy’ or ‘Sell’ positions to catch the current trend. This type of shares trading is about speculation on the fluctuations in the prices, without owning the securities themselves.
Companies issue shares primarily as a tool for raising capital. These are bought with funds that are put straight into the business, for instance into development or restocking its working capital. It is also an important reputational component of corporate image, adding to its publicity and transparency, attracting potential investors. To be traded on the stock exchange, a company must be listed. Listing requires companies to undergo a series of checks, meeting requirements on size, profitability, and more.

We offer competitive spreads across all our platforms, with differences depending upon the account type you choose. On the MT4/MT5 Raw Spread account, we offer spreads without markup on FX & Metals, with a commission of $3.50 per lot of USD, per side (commission is charged round-turn when you open a position.) The same applies to our cTrader account type. Our MT4/MT5 Standard account types have marked-up spreads and zero commission. For the minimum and average spreads for each account type, please check the specifications for the specific instrument. First you need to select from the “Markets” Tab the underlying category and then click on the specific instrument of your choice to check the average spread. Spreads are floating, which means they are variable and fluctuate according to market conditions.
